I have named my one year old filly "See Emily Play". She was born this past May. In November she will head down to Florida and begin jogging and training, and with any luck she will be ready to race, not this June but the following June.

That's cool, Gerry, good name! I didn't even know you were a horse person. My sister is too (not into racing though), and I did a lot of pleasure riding growing up, but it's been years.
I'm just curious, where exactly in Mechanicsburg was she born? That's basically where I live.

Vicki, she is at Hempt Farm, which is on Hempt Road, right off Fry Road I believe. This is a huge breeding farm. She will be there until November, when she will be shipped down to Florida to start getting ready.

You are welcome to visit there if you want, let me know and I will contact the Farm Manager. When the weather gets better, like April, I plan on taking a trip out there, maybe we can go to the farm together than go catch lunch somewhere.

:)

Gerry

Yep, Hempt Farm woulda been my first guess... I used to live just a couple miles from there and drove past it every day... nice place... I remember always pointing out all the foals to my son when he was little. I know of some other smaller horse farms out in back of Mechanicsburg too, but I don't know their names.

Even now I only live like 6 miles from there. Sure, I'd be into meeting for lunch and visiting See Emily Play when you're in town... just let me know, either by PM or email me at vikki515@comcast.net. I think we met briefly on the boat once before, didn't we?

Yes, we met on the boat, and you were kind enough to introduce me to many of the others. This sounds like fun. It is quite a feeling standing out in the field surrounded by about 50 foals at one time, with their moms keeping a close eye out!
