Was working on the computer tonight with itunes on random shuffle... "Stay" (Obscured by Clouds) came on and I immediately though what a perfect song for an acoustic show... As luck would have it there's a CT acoustic shown June 3rd.... Just a thought....

Still trying to figure out how I can do June 3rd then get to NY for the Boat show on the 4th and still have the wife speaking to me when I get home.... :?:

At long last Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center acoustic show is next week... I'm surprised no one from TM chimed in and said they have been rehearsing “stay”

I took a look back on some recent past acoustic set lists and noticed Scott hasn't played Arnold Layne since the infamous Stephen talkhouse show in “Strong Island” so I'm going to request that tune along with “Brain Damage / Eclipse” which also hasn't been played for some time... gotta keep the band on their toes.... any animal is good too: Pigs, Sheep, Dogs any or all will do!

I know it's becoming passé to post reviews of shows but I felt for this show it was mentioning a few things...

First off, great acoustic show at “The Kat” as its referred to by the employees at the establishment... Nice establishment, very good acoustics, comfortable chairs.

The Machine had a great stage set up with Tahrah on the right side facing Ryan instead of straight back like past acoustic shows. From my vantage point I could see Tahrah's hands as well as Scott's who was on a Grand(?) piano. Because of the nature of an acoustic show it was a nice treat to see Tahrah's skills with the different style of sicks (sorry, don't know what they are called) even playing with a normal stick reversed to get a different sound or touch was very enjoyable to watch/hear....

Now.... West of the stage Scott apparently was having issues with the Grand as he spent a fair amount of time with his hands inside of it instead of on the keys playing... ha, ha... In all seriousness, I thoroughly enjoyed how everyone in the band “explored” their instruments leading into set the controls, phenomenal, awesome, seriously good stuff... I do have one complaint however (surprise right?), as everyone is exploring sound and space with their instruments during the start of controls the overly friendly staff would say “thanks, have a great night” to people leaving to in all likelihood grab a beer or hit the John! Believe me, these people were not leaving!

A few other things worth noting... A couple of time I thought Joe was going to hop off a stool and hook into an amp as he was so into a particular part of a tune... I know it can't happen but I would have been cool... Intense intro to SOYCD by Scott, wow... every time this gets played at an acoustic show it gets better and better! Acoustic young lust had the instrument switch which I had never seen, I assume this is allot more risky than a normal show due to the missing amplification, enjoyed seeing Ryan jamb on lead and Scott pound the drums, he kind of looked like he knew what he was doing, ha, ha...

Not sure if it could happen but this would be a great venue for a normal TM show!

On my way out all I herd was wow... how great a show it was from different people as they were leaving...
