Was interested in the acoustic show coming up June 29. As a newbie to TM, I wanted to know how the acoustic show compares to a normal show as this show is closer than most shows for me. Obviously it will be more mellow buuutt... My guess is I need to be a Syd fan... Do most of you who chat on this board intend to attend?

Magenta, I'd say if you're fortunate enough to have a chance to catch an accoustic show, definitely do it. I only wish I could make it up to CT for that. They only do these unplugged shows every so often, and when they do, the feedback is always great... just read some old reviews. I think I've only personally seen them play one accoustic set (the half accoustic/half electric show in VT last Sept) out of the 14 shows I've been to... and it was a sweet treat. You're bound to hear some Syd stuff, but it wasn't all Syd. I also own their Unplugged CD, which IS largely Syd songs... let me tell you, I previously didn't like or was not real familiar with the old Syd stuff, but now I love it. That whole Unplugged CD is incredibly good and I think TM sounds better than the originals... I used to feel blasphemous saying that, but if you think about it, it makes sense that after like 17 or 18 years of playing together, TM is gonna sound better than Floyd did in their early years.

The Unplugged Shows Rule!
I will be there in CT in June. As we get closer, we can take a head count.

I'll definitely be there, with my usual Toad's Place crowd. Looks like it's going to be a small, intimate show, only 400 tix or so I think. Haven't had a chance to go to this new theater yet, having been away at school, but looking forward to start the summer off with a Machine show!

And the acoustic CD is really great, pick it up and give it a listen if you want to hear how the show might sound.
