Welcome to the Forum, bungles! Two hours is a nice-length set for a fest when you're not even the headliner. Glad you enjoyed it... had you ever seen The Machine before this?
As for Get The Led Out... I've seen them a handful of times (and streetteamed for them)... their goal is to sound exactly like the studio albums, and they are very good at what they do (I think the vocals are their best asset), but I wish they'd break out and jam sometimes too, like The Machine does with Floyd. I've talked to their manager about it, but he's pretty adamant about the fact that the audience wants it the way they're used to hearing it. And that formula is definitely working for them, they sellout shows all the time, so why mess with it I guess. Just like The Machine's formula (mixing up the studio exactness and the jamming) works for them.
I once told GTLO's manager that they and TM should team up sometime and do a co-bill or a fest together... he agreed. Not sure who actually made it happen... probably the fest organizers and not so much the bands themselves... but I'm glad to see it happen. Not sure if that's the first time or not, but it's the first I've noticed or can remember.
I wonder how TM's late-night set at Gathering of the Vibes went later that night? Awesome, I'm sure... was hoping to see some reports somewhere...
