Great show, great fun, great sound! Showcase Live is fast becoming my new favorite place to see The Machine!
I wasn't expecting to make this show as things were not coming together as expected and I was very disappointed... Two phone calls and a cocktail around 4:30 at a local watering hole and suddenly the plan was in full force! We arrived at the venue with about 15 mins to spare, I called ahead to confirm tickets were still available and was told they were not expecting a sellout (on of the biggest advantages of a general admission show)... The show may not have sold out but the place was PACKED! Although the guys had not started there was no way I was going to front row the first set, no worries for me however as I could see very well at my height.
The show set list was ideal for the guys I brought (one newbie) and the fact that CNumb wasn't played for an encore and Run like Hell was is a bonus for me. One of these days was the highlight for me, at this point in the show we had worked our way to about 6 people deep left of the stage and I had a great view of Joe on the slide - wow what a song - the bass was thundering through me and the sound was phenomenal! Thankfully, Your Possible Past gave those of us that needed it a little break only to be followed up with Sheep which is becoming more and more of a favorite for me.
The second set although well played and sounded great was not exactly the mix of songs I was hoping for... With that said, they guys I brought really enjoyed it and this gave them their first taste of the Young Lust switch. I did notice Scott seemed very comfortable on the drums... Maybe he's been working on them for a different switch song? Good to find Ron in the front row during the intermission... Got a chance to say hi and improve our vantage point greatly! All and all a great show and experience!
Now I need to figure out how to finagle two more Machine shows into my schedule before the new year!

Magenta,
Like I've posted before, if anyone that I have met (or friends of those I've met) at a show wants to come to the Northern Lights show (15-20 minutes north of Albany) on Saturday 12/19/09 they can crash at my place (10 minutes north). Northern lights is standing bar style venue with general admission ticketing, and the day of show price per their website is the best bargain of the season only seventeen bucks!! Perfect for the spontaneous decision. Skip that boring Xmas party, and come support The Machine (again, and again, and again....). Come and add another TM venue appearance to your list of shows attended. - Scott D.

i think there are some $ 10.6 tickets available from the radio station. ( pix 106) that could make it even sweeter, right?!
