More pics to follow, but first, a crowd shot from BB Kings.....

I don't know who was having more fun; Matt behind me, or Joe.

Behind me....

In front of me....

In front of me....

Behind me, just your average Machine fan (and I don't mean Matt)

And in front of me, one of the best Pink Floyd tribute bands!

Where were you when I was burned and broken
While the days slipped by from my window watching
Where were you when I was hurt and helpless
Because the things you say and the things you do surround me
While you were hanging yourself on someone else's words
Dying to believe in what you heard
I was staring straight into the shining sun

There's a silence surrounding me
I can't seem to think straight
I'll sit in the corner
No one can bother me
I think I should speak now ___________ Why won't you talk to me
I can't seem to speak now ____________ You never talk to me
My words won't come out right ________ What are you thinking
I feel like I'm drowning _____________ What are you feeling
I'm feeling weak now _________________ Why won't you talk to me
But I can't show my weakness _________ You never talk to me
I sometimes wonder ___________________ What are you thinking
Where do we go from here _____________ What are you feeling

All alone, or in two's,
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall.
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands.
The bleeding hearts and artists
Make their stand.

And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall.

Here's a short video clip with Joe on his slide guitar during the end of "One Of These Days". Warning; the audio sucks and is loud. The camera was a foot from the guitar. Yes, we were that close to Joe next to the stage. Caution: Turn down your volume before watching.

^^ That's GREAT!

I see Dark Globe made the setlist again... gee, hope nobody was stupid enough to return late from the setbreak and miss it!
I've said it before, but I'm really hoping to get my second chance at that one at the Whitaker!

Can you always get that close at BB's.... This may influence the holidays shows!!

If I was any closer, I would have bumped into the guitar.

For Machine shows, yes. They do have table and booth seating, but the area in front of the stage is for standing room only. Showcase Live up in Foxborough, MA is a carbon copy of the BB Kings layout.

Sorry Jen, but no. All these Friday Machine shows I've been attending has eaten up my vacation time. There's no way I can work, drive to a show and back, and go to work on Saturday. I used to be able to do this but I'm too old now to handle those kinds of hours.

Thanks Viki, but that's the only perspective I've could have gotten being so close to the stage. There wasn't any room to move around. The place was packed! And how about that Ryan in the background? I've never seen him so animated before.

man, those pix are fun!!

Thanks for all the compliments! And just think that it was a last minute decision to bring the camera. I didn't know what photography restrictions BB Kings has. But as it turned out, they didn't say anything about me taking pics.

I took another look at the rest of the photos, and found a few more......

Hmmmm, I'm liking this one a lot more now than when I first looked at it.

It was right after I took this, that I decided to shoot the video. Was my
first time taking video with this camera. Found out that it isn't easy holding
a 5 pound camera steady! Being that close to the stage isn't too good for the
audio portion. I'll have to try using an external mic next time.

Image
It's not too often that I can get a pic of Todd. He's usually too far back, in
the dark, or being blocked by Joe. But tonight, because of the not so deep
stage, he was a lot closer to us. And Joe would move out of my way every
so often. Thanks Joe......

Image
I still have more of these!!!!!! And I don't mean more of Matt!

I just noticed that the date of this show was my 1 year anniversary of joining this forum. I knew from the very minute I first saw The Machine at Toad's Place last October, that I was hooked. I'll never forget that night. Thanks Joe, Todd, Scott, and Ryan too.

hey man... bb kings didnt break your balls about the camera? i will be at both bb kings shows, as usual this week.. i will have my camera because i went on a limb and booked a hotel down there... so, should i bother to bring it? should i leave the mb-10 battery pack and bring just the camera?

you were not using flash, right? wide open?

thanks. i only have a 50 that is good enough in low light.. so i wont be able to get such wide ass shots like those. i need the nikon 14-24 mwahaha

I've never had a problem bringing my digital SLR to a Machine show there. No flash. No video. Shot wide open 2.8. High ISO. And since I stand right next to the stage, definitley a wide angle lens except for Tahrah. I'm going to both shows too so I'll probably see you there.

Alright I have a 50mm 1.4 it gets really sharp by 2.2. And my camera is swell up to 6400iso so I should be good. Just wish I had a wide angle for being up close :/ I might head adorama and try to borrow one
