I actually became aware of this NYE show the other day... just hadn't gotten around to posting about it yet... ya beat me to it, AHF! Tickets go on sale to the public next Sat 9/15, and they include party favors and a champagne toast at midnight... it's an all-age show, so minors get sparkling cider. Pretty sure I'll be there, and Rex said he'll probably go with me too since that's a definite work holiday for him, and Kate said she might be there. Haven't had a chance to talk to too many other people yet, but I bet we'll end up getting a nice group of posters there... a second chance for everyone who missed the Penn's Peak party in June, which was a blast. And what a great venue! Here's a link to Penn's Peak's show info page:
http://www.pennspeak.com/cgi-bin/calend ... &Year=2007

By the way, those dates on Pollstar are submitted by the public (not the band) and are not always 100% accurate, I've noticed. JamBase works the same way, but I'm mostly the one who submits those, and I don't add shows unless I'm fairly certain about them... in fact I usually wait til a show appears on the venue's schedule to be sure, plus that way I can include info on showtime, ticket prices, age restrictions, etc.

AHF, I will also be at the 9/21 Reading show... my seats are in the center orchestra about halfway back (row N)... not bad for waiting so long to buy tickets. Rex wants to go also, but if he has to work, then probably my son or husband will be using his ticket. I'll give you a call when I'm arriving in Reading, and hopefully we can meet up. Anyone else here gonna be at the Reading show?

I'm still up in the air about the State College show this Fri... it's looking doubtful, but it's not totally ruled out yet.

I just posted this link in the last Penn's Peak review thread, but I thought I'd post it here too, in an attempt to lure people to the NYE show, hehe. Many of you have wondered what Penn's Peak is like... it's a beautiful venue inside and out, an all-wood structure... here's a short vid that pans to the audience and the structure:

On the Tour page, wonder why for Dec 31st it says "Stay Tuned... IT'S A SECRET"... ain't no secret here... it's up on Penn's Peak's schedule, and tickets went on sale yesterday! :P

The band is exploring setting up a room/ticket deal for New Year's Eve (and maybe some other gigs) perhaps adding on a meet and greet with the band or something else.

Is this something fans would be interested in? What would make it "special" enough for you to travel?

May I suggest a theme: the rarely performed "1977" set: Animals 1st set, WYWH 2nd set, Encore: Money + Us and Them. The show killed at Irving Plaza a few years ago, and I've been dying to see it again!

Thanks for the ideas. We'll pass them along to the band!
