Echoheart, you are on the right track kid!!
Nektar is great.

They are no Porcupine Tree, but they are excellent.

Great band, have been listening to them since the early 70's. Saw them a few years ago at The Keswick and they are already confirmed for Rosfest next year.

Whoa - Nektar - that was my 2nd favorite group after Floyd in the mid-late 70's! They were a fantastic prog band that had almost a cult-like following in this area during that time. I saw them several times back then in NYC and NJ. Echoheart - Remember the Future, A Tab in the Ocean, and Recycled are especially great albums, if you want to work your way through their collection. Recycled, had Larry Fast, who was a great synth composer/performer under the name Synergy (Electronic Realizations for a Rock Orchestra is one to initially check out - way ahead of his time. The track "Phobos and Demos Go To Mars" from Chords, is my alltime, hard rockin' synth tune favorite). Fast played with Peter Gabriel in the 80's (his Shock the Monkey's synth sounds are very recognizable).

Anyway, Nektar had a profound influence on my musical taste in my formative years, and it's great to see them mentioned here! They rarely had airplay back then (except for late night WNEW and on college radio), yet there were a lot of fans around here that were addicted to them. Maxxx and Atom Heart - good to see your comments on them!

Mike
